El Paso – Chihuahua
Depart El Paso by bus. Buses leave hourly throughout the day and is a five hour transfer time. A private driver will meet you and transfer you to the bus depot from the airport or any El Paso area hotel. Upon arriving in Chihuahua you will be met by an English speaking driver who will transfer you to your hotel for the evening. If you arrive in Chihuahua early enough, take some time to explore the city and take in the sights of this historic location.
Chihuahua – Divisadero
Your day begins bright and early at 5:15 am as you are transferred from your hotel to the train station to board the First Class ChePe train en route to Divisadero. The scenery gradually changes from a dry and relatively flat desert landscape to that of scenic mountains and valleys, as you climb from an elevation of 4,600 feet to more than 8,000 to crest the Sierra Madre Range. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.
The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness.

Divisadero – El Fuerte
Breakfast and Lunch included at the hotel before departing at approximately 1pm, heading for El Fuerte. Use your free time in the morning to purchase handmade crafts from the Tarahumara Indians. After lunch, board the train for a rail trip through the rugged terrain across Mexico’s Sierra Madre Mountains to El Fuerte.
Your journey today will take you through the stunning Copper Canyon and end for the evening in the Colonial Town of El Fuerte.
El Fuerte
Today you have the entire day to relax, explore, and enjoy the amazing colonial city of El Fuerte. You will be lodging within blocks of the downtown city Plaza lined with beautiful palm trees and artwork. There is a variety of shops and cafes to enjoy, along with the El Fuerte Museum and Municipal building lined with fascinating murals.
This afternoon you will enjoy a leisurely River Float tour down the El Fuerte River, where you will encounter numerous types of birds and plant life that are native to this tropical environment. You will also have the chance to see the ancient Petroglyphs carved into the rocks that line the river.
El Fuerte – Cerocahui
The adventure resumes this morning as you re-board the "ChePe" first class train for today’s destination of Cerocahui! Today you traverse through a chunk of the most scenic segment of the railroad, climbing from sea level to an elevation of more than 6200 feet. Mountains and canyons stretch as far as the eye can see.
Upon arriving at the Bahuichivo train depot, you will be shuttled nearly 45 minutes to the most scenic mountain village in Northern Mexico - Cerocahui. You will transfer to the Mission Hotel, which is located in the heart of this historic hamlet, for an amazing stay. After lunch, you will go on a 3.5 hour long Urique Canyon tour, which includes stops at the highest overlook readily available to tourists, a cave home, a rancho, and the Virgencita Spring.

Cerocahui – Creel
After breakfast you will transfer back to the Bahuchivio train depot for your train journey to the mountain town of Creel. Today crossing the Continental Pass en-route to Creel, you will be surrounded by beautiful changing landscapes. Upon arriving, you will be transferred to your downtown Creel hotel. This afternoon settle in and enjoy the relaxing mountain air of this fantastic little town.

Free day in Creel
Today, you will have time in the afternoon to further explore Creel on your own. Creel is the shopping and trading center for the region, offering everything from handmade musical instruments to pottery and jewelry.
This afternoon you will enjoy an outstanding tour to the Cusarare Waterfalls, some of the tallest waterfalls in Mexico. This tour will take you through an area called Valley of the Monks as you travel through the open mountain terrain to the waterfalls.
Creel – Chihuahua
This morning you will go on a tour of Creel which will include such sites as Mushroom Valley, the Mission, a Tarahumaran Indian Cave, and Lake Arereko before boarding the ChePe train for your return trip to Chihuahua. Upon arriving in Chihuahua you will be transferred to your hotel for a night of relaxation and reflection.
Chihuahua – El Paso
It is time to say “adios.” Transfer to El Paso by bus. Buses leave every hour and upon arrival in El Paso you can be transferred to the airport or any El Paso area hotel.
