The stunning Swan River, world class beaches and a classic laid back alfresco city lifestyle await you at your starting point of Perth, Australia’s only west coast capital city. The first stop on your journey east on the Indian Pacific is Kalgoorlie, where you can see the world’s largest open cut gold mine (tour at own expense) followed by Cook, one of the world’s most isolated outposts. Upon arrival in Adelaide, there’s a private city tour and free time to relax or explore this great city at your leisure before heading off to Kangaroo Island, a true natural wonderland. You’ll share your time there with the many koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, sea lions and fur seals that call the island home as you explore the island’s many wonders including beautiful, white, sandy beaches and Remarkable Rocks, one of nature’s most amazing sculptures.

While the island’s food and wine is sensational, it’s when you return to Adelaide and head off to the Barossa Valley you’ll experience something truly special. We’ll tour a selection of the region’s 60 wineries where you can find out first hand why this wine region is world famous. Although with its rich history, the Barossa offers more than just fine wine; you also have the option to combine two of the world’s finest train journeys by going on to the four day Splendors of Central Australia which adds even more unique and memorable experiences to your journey.
